If I get WNISEF Seed Grant aid for my first year, will it renew automatically for the second year?
During the program a grantee must submit academic transcripts as proof of good standing in the program. The grantee is expected to meet the good standing requirements of the Program throughout the entire study period. If a student does not maintain good standing status, the Seed Grant will be terminated, and the candidate will be required to repay any financial support received through the Seed Grant program immediately.

What makes a good candidate?
The top 50 U.S. MBA schools typically look for intellectually driven individuals from diverse educational, social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. The candidates will share a history of social and professional activities, demonstrate strong leadership and the ability to work together with a clear sense of purpose. To be eligible for a WNISEF Seed Grant, a candidate must not only be accepted by a top 50 U.S. MBA school, but also be committed to returning to Ukraine/Moldova for a minimum of three years to work and invest their knowledge, abilities, and skills in the country’s transition.

Are interviews required?
Yes. All applicants eligible for a WNISEF Seed Grant will be interviewed. Interviews are conducted solely at the invitation of the Grant Committee and only after the initial review of your application. Therefore, we ask that you please refrain from contacting us to request an interview. All candidates are given equal consideration when reviewed by the Grant Committee.

Where can the Seed Grant winners work after graduation?
The WNISEF Seed Grant program’s primary goal is investing in the leaders of change for Ukraine and Moldova’s successful further development. Therefore, the requirements for each participant are to return to their home country after receiving an MBA, degree and to work for at least three years within their chosen field. The Seed Grant recipients are expected to live and work in Ukraine / Moldova permanently either as an employee of Ukrainian / Moldovan company or the government or as individual for three consecutive years, entrepreneur.

The top 50 U.S. business schools are strong, internationally recognized brand names. They serve as a significant certified hallmark in today’s globalized world, in particular in Moldova and Ukraine. Moreover, the top 50 U.S. business schools have the greatest ratio of registered alumni to current students and have powerful alumni representation in more countries than any other schools. The Economist ranks the alumni network of the top 50 U.S. MBAs as the most effective. Sometimes, being part of a strong, united community, which reaches far beyond own home country, provides each member with greater courage to move forward and higher chances to succeed.

What expenses are covered by the Seed Grant?
The program will cover up to 100% of tuition expenses of a full-time student while enrolled in a full-time MBA program at any of the top 50 U.S. MBA schools over one or a two-year period. Executive or part-time programs are not eligible.

How is the Seed Grant awarded?
The Seed Grant is awarded to candidates who meet the requirements and is paid in several installments prior to each semester (term) or academic year as required by the School directly to the university, as long as the student maintains good standing in the program. Financial support given will be valid for a time span of two years for one defined study plan (full-time MBA). The student is responsible for any taxes associated with the Grant. – 100% of the Seed Grant amount becomes a repayable loan in case the grantee does not return to Ukraine/Moldova for a period of no less than three years after completing their studies. Students must repay the loan in its entirety if they do not return.

Is there an income limit for need-based consideration?
Seed Grant is not a need-based grant. However, the candidate must provide sufficient proof of income/savings/loans to cover living and transportation expenses to/from and within the U.S. + collateral (the Student’s obligations under the Agreement must be secured).

When should I apply for the Seed Grant?
You can apply for the Seed Grant as soon as you receive a notification from an eligible business school confirming your admission.

What is the procedure of SEED Grant application?
An application process is composed of three stages: (1) on-line application and documents submission; (2) handing in the documents and interview; (3) application revision and announcement of the result by Seed Grant committee. Applications must be submitted through SEED Grant’s website. The deadline for applications is 75 days before the beginning of your MBA Program.

Are there any other scholarship programs citizens of Ukraine and Moldova should consider when applying for an MBA degree?
Candidates are welcome and encouraged to seek as much financial support as possible prior to applying for a Seed Grant. All other grants, available funds, scholarships or stipends will be taken into account during the allocation of Seed Grants. WNISEF will contact each university to ensure that as much financial support as possible has been granted by the university itself prior to proceeding with the Grant.

How many candidates from Ukraine and Moldova will receive the WNISEF Seed Grant?
WNISEF's goal is to support all qualified candidates who are accepted to top 50 full-time U.S. MBA programs. The final number of stipends will depend on the cost of the MBA studies and the number of applicants. Educational costs vary widely between different business schools. We will do our best to support as many candidates as possible.
